I have been trying to change the icons for Microsoft Office 2004, both manually and with Candybar, however it says that it is not a bundled software so it cannot be done. Does anyone know a way around this? I am assuming there is a way as people have gone out of their way to make icons for these apps, and I have seen people with alternative icons for them. Thanks!

Ctrl+click on the app
Click "Get Info"

Find the icon you want
Ctrl+click on the icon
Click "Get Info"

Click on the icon of the icon in the upper left corner
Command+C

Click on the icon of the app so it highlights
Command+V

That should work...it did for me. Only some icon files work for this, not sure which ones do and which ones don't.
