Office 2008 - Floating Menu & Toolbars

Hi all

Just purchased my first copy of Mac Office 2008 and I'm being driven wild by the menu and toolbars not being fixed to the page, like they are in Windows? How can I get them to stay together and stop other screens from showing through?
