Office 2008 Not Updating To SP1

I have tried downloading it twice but everytime the installer starts up it says that my hard drive volume does not contain MS Office. Any ideas on whats wrong?

Is it a) a legal copy of Office you have and b) is Office where it expects to be (/Applications)?

It is a legal copy and it is in /applications
