Working with Office 2008 for Mac: I'm trying adapt an existing document in Word so that the Page header only appears at the top of the first page.
Curently there is a header and a footer on page one. I need only the footer to repeat on subsequent pages. The styles, page breaks and header/footer set up is actually set so that the header is already absent provided I begin typing on the second page.
The problem arises when the text spills onto the second page from the first: typically the document is used as a quotation format for jobs, and therefore contains a table on page one. It is adding to this table or adding anything to the page that pushes the table over the page break that adds the second unwanted header to page 2. The software seems to treat 'overspill' type as being on an extended version of the first page unless I start typing directly on to page two. I need to be able to edit and add to the content of page one, specifically a table, and have it spill onto page 2 as normal without repeating the first page header and retaining the footer.
Any suggestions?
Thanks In advance.
