Office 2008 Update Install Problems

I am trying to download 12.1.9 for Office 2008, but when I get into the installer and select "Macintosh HD", it says I have no visible Office version installed (previous version). Any ideas?

I think Office for Mac is horrible, but I need it for now, so...
