I know apple has a family pack. Does anybody know if Microsoft office has a "family pack?" I have two computers I need to upgrade to the new office.

They usually have a family discount package, where if you buy the original at retail, you get a good deal on the successive ones you buy.

I've been using Office 2008 for Mac, and I actually really like it so far. The suite is much faster + improved being universal binary, as well as having a much more "Mac" look to the interface with ribbons up top and coloring/shading on the box; I've attached a screen shot to show you what I mean:

Office 2008 Upgrade

Well it's nice to see a screenshot, I'm certain that one or more of the beta testing covenants that were agreed to were violated in posting this image.

Microsoft has not offered Family Discount programs beyond several weak and time limited Vista programs lately. If your family qualifies, the Educational pack may prove to be beneficial.

I bought Office 2007 for my Windows PCs at my Campus Computer Store, and installed it on multiple computers with no problem.

Is it different for Office Mac?

From what I've heard, there will be a "Home and Student" version for US$149 that can be used on up to 3 computers in one household.

So you can remove all those extra toolbars and ribbons and other gizmos that take up all your screen space? That would be good news.

I got onto the Office 2007 Beta.

What does it take for Office 2008 for Mac? I already have a bunch of stuff linked to my TechNet account.

From experience I can tell you that at this stage, it is no replacement for your everyday suite...waaaaay too buggy...

What have you found buggy? I can't seem to get any errors even if I try...I really like it so far...

Wow! I only used Word for a day, and Excel for around 10 minutes...speed was a big issue, and it crashed three times...maybe I'm just unlucky.

BTW This was before and after the suite was XSlimmed, and it was not an upgrade from a previous version of Office...
