Office 2016 docx file gone

So i was writing some stuff on Word and later decided to close the Word app, so I saved what i wrote but after saving and trying to close that document i got a pop-up asking if i wanted to save the document (which i did earlier). Seemed weird so i went to the folder where i saved the document and it was there, so i just clicked 'don't save', after that the document vanished, lol nice. Now it's gone, nowhere to be found, not in temp folder, just nowhere. What happened? Im so pissed off of all these stupid bugs, why do i even use anything of Microsoft, not like this is unexpected... So anyway, is it possible to retrieve the document in any way?
