I have an option to update from Office 2016 to Office 2019 through Microsoft's Home User Program for my employer for a nominal charge.

For folks running Office 2019, is it OK/stable?

Thanks.

I also have both. But, for me, I bought Office 2019, at a great price, because of the impending support stoppage next year. The statement from Microsoft:

It will be supported with security updates and bug fixes, as needed, until October 13, 2020

I transitioned to Office 2019, it's much better than Office 2016; the Dark Mode addition alone is well worth it. Personally, I only use Excel on a regular basis as I prefer Pages and Keynote to Word and PowerPoint, but the entire suite in 2019 is much better than 2016.

Curious...

Aside from dark mode what do you find that’s much better?

I don’t care for dark mode, so it plays no roll for me personally.
