Office app that doesn't require data

I just purchased a used iPad and I love it so far. I only have a wifi version. I have Doc to Go on my iPhone and it does transfer to an iPad version. Is there a way to enter data in docs to go on the iPad when you dont have an Internet connection? then sync it back to the computer when I get home on my wifi network.

I tried going to airplane mode on my phone and opened up docs to go and it made me connect to wifi. Make sense?

If not does anyone know a way or another app to work on a word/excel document without the need to have wifi? Then be able to transfer the info that I put in into the same document on my Mac?
