I have 12 separate word documents that have individual/different headers. Each header has 3 out of 4 common elements. The 4th element, i.e. the Title changes from document to document.

How do I combine all 12 documents into 1 document, with all folios becoming consecutive, BUT retain the different Titles in the headers for each 'section' of the new document?

  1. Paste all 12 documents into one document.
  2. Insert section breaks between each "document", which will now be sections.
  3. In the first section header, make the header the way you want it.
  4. In each subsequent section's header, disable "link to previous", then modify the fourth field you need different.
