I work for a company that allows us to buy Office Mac 2004 full version for $20.00. Is this worth the $$?

Well considering 2008 just came out, it's 4 year old software...so not super worthwhile.

You would have been better off with the deals when you could get 2004 and 2008 for $25 (black Friday only), or the other deal for getting both for $125, but I think that expired too, unfortunately.

So I guess if your only other option is paying full retail for 2008 and you don't mind using the old version, and you actually have need for Office, then I guess you could buy it?

no real need

I suppose i really don't need office. I'm sure '08 will be the same $20 in the near future offered to us.

I asked Microsoft about this a few days ago and it looks like 2008 will be available within the next couple of months.

Meaning outside the US? I've been struggling/working with my copy
for a week already.

Further answering the question about whether it (2004) is worth $20, I'd
say if you have need for Word/PowerPoint/Excel on a regular basis, then
"yes". And you might even look at NeoOffice (free) - it does a better
job with some of my Office files (created on PCs) than 2008 does . . .:(

My guess is that there will be some 2008 updates, kinda like Leopard.
'Cuz it ain't quite ready as it is . . .
