Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, so apologies if I'm not giving enough detail, but hoping someone can help me....

I have a 2014 Macbook Pro 13 inch with 16gb of ram and a 500gb solid state hard drive with a 122gb free space. It's running Mojave currently.

For the last few months, it's been driving me mad - everytime I open up any kind of office based task like Word, Excel, or even just text edit, I get the spinning wheel. This can be native mac programs like Pages, Numbers or Microsoft products like Office for Mac, Excel for Mac etc. Or as mentioned, just text editing or copy and pasting from within text edit gives me the spinning wheel.

I've tried torun first aid on my hard disk, but it reports that my disk is ok... I am considering a clean install,
but I've read that people often continue to have these issues even after a clean install, so I don't want to go to all that trouble if there is a better way to deal with this...

I'd be really grateful for any help or ideas to troubleshoot this.

Thank you for reading.
