Some of us have been waiting for the official answer from Apple and it's finally available.

Summary
  1. iPhone 12 series notch is not smaller than iPhone 11 Pro.
  2. iPhone 12 series side and top/bottom bezels are thinner than iPhone 11 Pro series. This is the result of thinner glass and metal bezels.
  3. iPhone 12 mini has the thinnest side and top/bottom bezels (even thinner than iPhone 12 Pro).

Notch width
  • iPhone 12/12 Pro (Max) = 34.83mm
  • iPhone 12 mini = 34.83mm
  • iPhone 11 Pro (Max) = 34.80mm
  • iPhone 11 = 35.96mm

Side bezels
  • iPhone 12/12 Pro (Max) = 3.47mm
  • iPhone 12 mini = 3.27mm
  • iPhone 11 Pro (Max) = 4.52mm
  • iPhone 11 = 5.57mm

Forehead and chin
  • iPhone 12/12 Pro (Max) = 3.47mm
  • iPhone 12 mini = 3.27mm
  • iPhone 11 Pro (Max) = 4.52mm
  • iPhone 11 = 5.57mm

Thanks for this JPack 🙂

I’m a pessimist at heart so I wasn’t expecting the notch to shrink this year (or next), but now I know where to find exact dimensions on future models to see if there’s any improvements in bezel / notch size 👍

I'm not sure I agree with these. The above measurements show that the mini's bezels are smaller than the regular iPhone 12's, but Apple's marketing material clearly shows the opposite.

It might simply be due to the mockup. These are often not an actual iPhone in hand, but rather photoshopped elements to create the final image.
At least I hope that's the reason. We'll have to see once these are finally in the wild.

So, the bezels are 0.03mm bigger than on the 11 Pro models?
