This is a new one on me. I've just bought a high quality third party lightning cable, and it doesn't work with my official wall charger. If I plug in either my iPhone 5 or iPad mini both say they are charging on the screen, but do not, the charge continues to fall. This only happens with the official charger - if I plug the cable in to my iMac or a third party USB wall charger, it works just fine.
Anybody else had this or can explain it? Would Apple be sneaky enough to make their wall chargers output some kind of odd voltage that only works with official lightning cables and not other USB cables/devices? This isn't a cheap $1 knock-off cable, it's a reasonably expensive and recent one.
