I watch the show, not sure why. Mostly background viewing while I'm doing something else. Every show seems the same, they catch crabs, the good kind. Sometimes they catch more and they are happy, sometimes nada.

While watching I'm mostly intrigued by the ocean and the crazy Bering Sea.

I started watching it one night during season one while I was in college still in the dorms and became addicted to it. Ever since then I have either watch new episodes when they first aired or downloaded them that night.

Now I have my DVR set to record them and look forward to my Tuesday nights when I could watch it.

Deadliest is catch is currently the ONLY reality TV show that I look forward to watching and about the only one where I can rewatch episodes. It is very different that other reality TV shows out there.

Just curious how watching Deadliest Catch is re-watch worthy. It's boats, ocean, people and crabs. Once I've seen an episode, no need to re-watch it to see what might happen.

I watched the first 2 or 3 seasons. Honestly like most reality shoes, the show gets repetitive after awhile. I have nothing against the show, but just doesn't interest me anymore.

Although I must say, I'd still occasionally watch it, if I had a TV. That would be mainly for the Northwestern. I like Sig and Edgar (not like THAT though) :D

I hated it how they teased us with Phil having engine trouble and calling to the coast guard. That was plain evil!

And OMG Sig has a heart!

I feel really bad for Jake though. To find out a family member die, in the middle of nowhere, stinks.

No doubt I do too, but it really surprised me Sig immediately turned the boat around to get him home. Unlike a couple seasons ago a crew member( I forgot who it was) was in legal trouble and if he didn't make the court date, he would go to jail. Sig said tough luck to him. He did make it because Sig is a kick ass skipper and always knows where the crab is. I did like how the crew treated him with the jail stripes on his fishing gear. :)

Something I just learned about Dutch Harbor:

I read a blog by a guy who's taking his pleasure boat form Seattle to Japan and around the world from there...he stopped in Dutch Harbor and many of the other Aleutian islands to visit and view some of the World War II sites. I had no idea there was combat in Alaska and that Dutch Harbor was actually bombed by the Japanese.

P.S. This guy and his wife founded Sierra games.

But in that case, wasn't it his own stupidity for getting on a crab boat with a known court date coming up?

Wasn't that guy Nick or Matt?

It's great background TV. They sure run it enough.

I discovered it when I was sick and they had a weekend marathon. I watched like 20 hours that weekend.

The new episode is tonight. Whoever wants to post during the episode can and hopefully others will be able to discuss the events in the episode. In the preview, it seems like a boat is going to sink.

A boat? Sounds like more then one boat is screwed due to the storm.

The episode has begun. The following posts may contain SPOILERS!
I will post when the SPOILER ALERT has finished.

They say its 24 hours until the final offload and a boat is sinking.

Everything ended well, the storm ended and the season has ended. The crab fishers have a few months to regain strength and are back put there.

SPOILER ALERT OVER!
