when do you guys think we’re getting the official reviews? Tomorrow morning? Wednesday?

Just wondering when the embargo will be lifted. If I remember correctly, it is the Tuesday before the official release day for iPhones.

Any ideas?

I would say some reviews/more in depth experiences should start surfacing by Thursday at the latest, and then by Monday, a full swing of reviews from the major tech reviewers will be available after having the weekend to experience it.

I could be wrong, but I think no one is getting a review unit. Comments from Gruber, Dalrymple, Pogue... It's just an impression, really, correct me if anyone knows for sure... but I think Apple only wanted reviewers to have a tightly controlled experience... in their corporate apt in NYC. They set up the HomePod against the competitors, and did a demo. They wouldn't let reviewers touch it or photograph anything. I suppose some got one, but this time around it feels different.

I'm thinking any day now, though Thursday seems to strike a chord with me.

Ya know, with a little Sriracha, crow isn't half bad. :p

I think many will be surprised how small the HomePod is.

6.8 inches high (172 mm)
5.6 inches wide (142 mm)

It’s definitely a good thing tho it means it can be placed on most shelves and in most rooms. I’m looking at putting one on my bedside table if they are really that small there should be more than enough room.

For some that will be a problem. No mid range speakers and maybe a 3" woofer. Yes it is good it will fit inside your medicine cabinet.

I think people are going to be surprised at how well it sounds, video’s and reviews have said how great it does sound, looking forward to mine arriving on Friday!
