Hi All,

Im at the point of buying a Mac Pro (quad core model) soon, I would like to buy some extra memory and harddisks.
As I understand Apple is just using third party components, does this mean I can buy the same models/types as Apple uses in the Power Mac in a regular PC shop?, it would probably save me some money.

Can anyone tell me what brand and type of hardisks and memory Apple is using in the Mac Pro?

Also, are there alternatives worth looking at?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

If I remember correctly, Mac Pro uses Western Digital's Caviar Green hard drives, but the RAM is from very small manufacturer (maybe Apple's daughter company), so that is very hard to find. Buy from NewEgg
