You guys did a great job. Just imho Sonoma itself is not a very worthy update, partially because it breaks wifi support for Broadcom devices.Why?![]()
I have it running on my 2012 MBP 16 gigs of Ram & an SSD. It works fine! I mean if your expectations are an old MBP.I watched a video and Sonoma was struggling on a 2012 MBP with 16GB of RAM. I was thinking of trying it on my 2012 Mini but I doubt it will run smooth, especially since I have only 8GB of RAM.

Seems to be running just fine on my Mac Mini 2012. I can't really tell the difference from Ventura apart from the wallpaper, not that I do anything really taxing on it. It's pretty much a communcation device and for light office work. For that Sonoma is ok.I watched a video and Sonoma was struggling on a 2012 MBP with 16GB of RAM. macOS Sonoma runs much better than Ventura, at least on my Macmini 6,2 incl. its Broadcom BCM43xx WiFi; where do you have issues? You guys did a great job. Just imho Sonoma itself is not a very worthy update, partially because it breaks wifi support for Broadcom devices.
I am using Fenvi T919 and Sonoma has no support for Broadcom. I don't know how your mini works fine, to be honest.macOS Sonoma runs much better than Ventura, at least on my Macmini 6,2 incl. its Broadcom BCM43xx WiFi; where do you have issues?
Are you on OCLP 1.0.1? They found a bug in 1.0.0.I am using Fenvi T919 and Sonoma has no support for Broadcom. I don't know how your mini works fine, to be honest.
It looks like he never actually tried it, was just annoyed that neither macOS Ventura nor Sonoma support Broadcom out of the box (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/not-upgrading-to-ventura.2403603/post-32609007) but never looked into what OCLP could do regarding Broadcom support for older hardware...Are you on OCLP 1.0.1? "1.0.1 is a bug fix release for some Broadcom WiFi cards and graphics issues in macOS Sonoma. These updates are not critical, however may help resolve issues with macOS."
I suggest updating to 1.0.1, and updating root patches.

Maybe delaying it by 52W would be less restrictive than avoiding Sonoma all together so bug fixes can be done.Why?![]()
