Does the Official OS 3.0 have the (7A341) moniker after it, in the "About" section of the iPhone? I bought the 3Gs today and when I restored it from my other phone, I wasn't thinking and I believe I put the GM version on it, when I didn't want to. I'm not sure how much it matters, but I kinda just wanted the official thing. Is there anyway to get it, if this is in fact not it? Thanks for any info!

The GM and the "Official" OS 3.0 are identical. The OS version on my 3G S matches the GM version from my 3G identically. Hope that answered your question.

Thanks for the reply! Do you mean that it does say "3.0 (7A341)" on your 3GS or does it just say "3.0"? I don't know why I'm being anal about it, I guess I'm just hoping that updating in the future won't be an issue.

What you think you did is impossible since the 3G S firmware is iPhone2,1 and the 3G is iPhone1,2. When you restore your data from a back up it will not mess with the firmware since your 3G S is brand new.

Oh got it, thanks I was just a lil paranoid for no apparent reason. I didn't want to taint the newness of the phone haha. Thanks again guys for the help and info.
