OK, so i thought that it would be nice to have a place on MR where you can list all the places (on TV and real life), that you have spotted a mac.

It might give some idea as to how far macs are getting into the windows world, and how much advertising they are getting through TV shows, we may even be able to find osme correlation between the two!

For exapmle: Macs are used all the time on:

The O.C. (everyone has a mac on this show!...and ipods too)
The BBC show 'Hustle'

Lots of people i know between the 17-23 year old age group have switched...i wonder if this is because of all the macs on TV?

I don't think ive seen many macs in shops though in a business setting.

Please post (as you see them) all the macs you've spotted both on TV and in real life

I thought they'd been similar threads before?

But...

BBC Grandstand Final Score use a bank of iBooks.
Toucan use a 17" PowerBook for their sponsor slot of C.S.I., C.S.I. Miami and C.S.I. NY.

I work in an industry where if you use a PC, you're deemed a 'minority' so people that use Macs are not such a novelty for me. ;)

Desperate Housewives:

Susan's daughter, Julia(I think), has an iBook.
Carlos has a Titanium PowerBook.

Lots of commericals... there every where. :)

EDIT:
And real life?
Tons of them - airport, café, hotels, etc. and advertisements.

I work for CNRS in France, and it is entirely Windows-centric. In our laboratory we have about 40 researchers, of which 3 own Macs, and I'm the only one who uses it regularly at work. However, all three Mac folks in our lab are in the same office; maybe we're drawn together by kindred bonds?

I see Macs at a lot of the scientific conferences I go to though, so I think they're more popular in the university environment than in government labs. It is nice to see them when they pop up at conferences, though, since you can usually be sure the presentation will be in Keynote, and look nice :)

Sex and the City - Carrie has a Mac laptop, and a whole episode is dedicated to it breaking and having to be repaired/replaced.

There's nothing better than spotting Mac's 'in the wild' though ;)

Loved that episode.

In fact, though, all the main characters use Macs in Sex and the City! :D

just thought of another one...chloe in Smallville has a whole room full of macs, i think that they are G3's though, maybe with a couple of G4 powermacs

I saw an ibook this morning on the AOL /discuss posters about not knowing what youre kids are doing online, doesnt look like one at first cos its relatively small but its def an ibook

No she doesn't. They all got ripped out and replaced with PCs by Lex after Lionel Luther paid for the Torch to be trashed back in season 3 (I think). Proof that the Luthors really are evil.

Lana Lang, be warned!!

On House I believe there's a Titanium PowerBook that you see from time to time, but that's the only Mac on house.

And on Degrassi there's quite a few iPods and such.

Boston Legal shows PowerBooks quite often, although they cover up the Apple logo.

Entourage (HBO) has Macs on it constantly. Every freaking desk has an iMac on it. There was one episode that actually took place IN an Apple Store (trying to score free head shots by taking a Photoshop class).

Actually, Apple products are freaking everywhere on TV. It'd be easier to list the shows that don't show an Apple product. :)

Sopranos, AJ has an iBook.

On Big Love I caught a quick glimpse of an ACD in "The Prophet's" office.

And there is an commerical for the Army in which they're in an hangar full of helicopters, and there are several iMacs around them.

And I've often noticed OS X being used on commercials.

There's a bunch of ibooks on Ellen this week.
She's doing a promo with Dove hair products.
They covered up the apple logo with the Dove logo.

On this week's Scrubs, that was a PowerBook that the guy in the hospital bed was using to speak. Lots of good Mac sightings of him using it to talk, the janitor trying to "fix" it, and the new one arriving and being unwrapped from the foam wrapping by Dr. Cox.

On the WB's One Tree Hill... not that I watch it or anything:rolleyes:
And I also saw them sported on some furniture in a recent Sears Catalogue.
