Official Unlocked iPhone 4S - Questions

My unlocked iPhone 4S just arrived via FedEx from Apple.

Are there any special things you need to do to activate the phone?

The log in screen says to insert an unlocked micro SIM. I wonder if the SIM from my locked ATT iPhone 4 will work?

Ok...I have this figured out. I was thrown for a loop when the new unlocked iPhone asked for an unlocked SIM.

I inserted the old micro SIM from my iPhone 4 and the new unlocked phone is now operating....

By "unlocked" all they mean is that there is no PIN, since that can interfere with the iTunes activation process.

Anyway, it's good to see that these are starting to arrive.

Some carriers issue SIMS that are locked to a particular phone (and thus will only work with said phone), hence why the iPhone is asking for an unlocked SIM.

AT&T's sims are "unlocked" in this sense.
