I use maps.me and Nokia maps on my iPhone for offline mapping. These are simple to use, allow the downloading of map regions for offline use, permit the adding of pins to locations, the grouping of said pins using different colours and the adding of notes or comments to each individual pin.

There doesn't seem to be anything like this that I can find for the Mac. At all. The closest I've come is using Garmin BaseCamp with OpenStreetMaps, but I can find no helpful advice on how to actually use downloaded OSM maps with this app—or any other app. QGIS is much too complex both to install and use, and requires the install of many other frameworks before you can even install QGIS itself.

Please, can someone help me find a maps.me/Nokia maps-like offline map for the Mac? If it isn't free, can it please be reasonably priced?
