try to put it into DFU mode(http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034) and restore. If that doesn't work return it to an Apple store

On a side note, did you try to jailbreak it, if not how did that happen?

No i didnt jailbreak it.
Its my fathers he just turned it on and bingo.
I have tried DFU mode & get.

its way out of warranty and it has not been jail broken mkay:rolleyes:

it all appears to be the screen, as I have managed to restore the touch, and it is seen in itunes, and i can see the os on the phones screen beneath all the wavey lines.

did it drop at all? thats what it might be.

From my experience, there is nothing you can do. I'd suggest contacting apple and making sure on that before chucking the device in the garbage. I had similiar problem with a different device and it turned out that you have to replace the screen's display chip (circuit) and the paper (ya there should be a paper) to fix this problem.

Unfortunately for you, since the product is out of warranty i'd suggest contact apple to make sure that nothing can be done, if something can be done then great, and purchase a new one.
