She can get it but has a lower tier right now I doubt they would have any need for it. My sister does not even know what it means. It is ok though. I am just jealous lol. I am here visiting my sister.

If she did have 1 Gbps Fiber I doubt I would be able to go back to my home internet.

Sorry just wanted to say one last thing I know a lot of people or at least maybe I should say many can get 1 Gbps download and upload fiber in the US at least more than it use to be.

I have 1GB fiber internet. It is great, especially for downloading and uploading large files, as well as no longer having a data cap. With the usual web browsing etc. the speed isn't really noticeable, compared to 60 - 100mbps etc.

I agree with this. May I ask what ISP please?

One time I came across someone in the area who had a 1 Gbps wifi network with no password and I used it to download the beta image of Windows Vista on the day it came out.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I think we're on the 45M tier of U-verse. It's fine even when there's one person binge-watching Netflix, another on YouTube, and then you're just browsing around the internet. It's only if I go try and download something more than 100 MB it gets noticeably slow for everyone else. But that's not an everyday problem that's worth upgrading for, not when we have cable still bundled anyway.

1 Gbps seems overkill until you get your hands on it. ;)
I am into year three with 1 Gbps fiber connection at home, and find it really useful. Syncing files back and forth between home and office goes blazing fast, and downloading files is more fun than ever. Added bonus that the cost is half of my previous 100 Mbps connection - $35/month.
