That's almost as stupid as Norton Anti-Virus for the Mac!

Some people will buy anything!

fubar

Should be called "FuBar" instead of "uBar"

I'm sorry I know that was lame, but I couldn't resist....:D

For some reason I kind of want to see it in action and see how responsive, etc. it is. Definitely not doing the trial though...

There was a task bar app for Mac OS 8/9 a long time ago. I forgot the name but it was pretty popular.

I don't see anything wrong with it, especially if someone was just switching over to Macs.

Not a replacement for a dock though by any means.

geez, even Windows is losing the taskbar (Windows 7). That is saying something. These guys apparently don't know know about that "something"

That's called "Activity Monitor", and it's much nicer. ;)

I was leaning more towards the fact that the Task Manager does more damage then anything else.

You know, like when you press alt+ctrl+del. and it gives u the task manager, it lags for a bit, you try and quit the frozen application and it stalls the task manager further. Then it somehow shows up on screen multiple times as u try to move the window around, having occured a re-draw problem. To much disappointment, you try and quit the task manager only to notice that the task bar and start menu have disappeared completely and now your left with no other option but to go back to the inoperable task manager.

Makes me wonder what god damn purpose it serves if it solves nothing.

just wait till someone comes up with the task manager....

you know how far that gets you in windows.

Activity Monitor blows task manager out of the water...TM is pretty good for what it is, but the Mac equivalent gives way more detailed info.

After being on Windows for so long, I was *HAPPY* to get rid of the stupid hierarchical menu system.

The Dock is so much nicer and easier to use than having to deal with the Start menu.

I was actually using the dock long before I ever switched to the Mac though - My standard window manager on Linux was Afterstep, a clone of Steve Jobs' NeXTStep interface, which ended up in OS X anyway :)

A friend's dad just bought himself an iMac, but got so frustrated with learning the new UI that the computer just sits in his office collecting dust. I recommended this small chunk of software to try and ease him into his new system. We'll see where it goes.

I tried it out. I was impressed with how well it blended the two work-styles, but I got rid of it after the first growl reminder to register a key.
