I'm about to start college and I already have a 2.4 new iMac with 2 gb ram and 500gb hard drive as my main computer, but I'd like to have something to carry around to classes and whatnot. At first I thought I'd just get the low-end macbook, but the more I thought about it, the less I wanted to spend and I really want to run classic. As of right now I'm looking at a 15" Powerbook G4 @1.25 with a 60gb hard drive, a gig of ram, superdrive, airport, bluetooth for about $700 even. I'm buying from an authorized dealer online with a limited warranty as opposed to ebay.

I know that I could buy a much more capable macbook that would be a better computer for only a few hundred more, but it won't run classic, and all I would really need to do would run iWork, internet, and maybe good 'ol Photoshop 5 (hence the classic). I also would much rather have the 15" screen.

Anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Sell the iMac and use the money for a MBP. That way you have portability and power ;)
