i have lost my email when i click the email icon i get a ? within the icon and i get the same on safari

i also need to create some space on the hd i only have 1.77gb on there itunes is 32gb and iphoto is 250mb not enough space for latest osx download

All help for a dumbwit required

Does the "?" appear in the dock?

If so then go to the application folder and double click the mail icon there. If your emailprogram starts, then you can just drag the icon from the application folder into the dock and remove the icon with the "?" in it from the dock.
(drag the icon to the desktop and it will dissapear in a cloud of smoke) :)

Hope this helps...

There is no icon for safari and email in the application folder

Any idea how to create more room on the hd without content from itunes and iphoto

Well if Safari and whatever email app you use (weather it be Mail or Entourage or Thunderbird etc) are gone from applications then you need to redownload Safari and reinstall whatever email app you use

As far as the HD space goes, you will either have to transfer your photos to an external drive or delete some. Since your iPhoto is 250 gigs big means you have a whole lotta photos.

Not much else you can do to free up space. Just need to clean up. :(

Oops, thought you said 250gb for iPhoto. you will need to take a look through your machine to see what is taking up so much space.

Both safari and email will not open and both have the same symbol a piece of paper with a pencil abd ruler on it i am unable to opem mail prefs it opens mac mail which i do not use

Did you try to Spotlight it?
Also you need to get an external HD asap, you have way to little space left for OSX to function correctly.

I agree that a lack of HD space is a serious issue. If you can't get an external right away, at the very least start burning some of your music to cds.

What program to you use for email? Do you have a Yahoo account, or?

i use orange as my broadband supplier i do not use yahoo

I have an external hd but this has not saved my email data all of my itunes folders are on the lacie

i managed to do the updtes to the osx but this has not solved the safari problem

I'm confused. What software do you use for email?

Go to the following link to download Safari. It's in the middle of the page.
http://www.apple.com/downloads/

How much space is left on the Mini's internal drive?
How much space is left on your external Lacie drive?

Which one of them are you trying to make more space on?

Whichever the case, you need to either delete files or get a larger hard drive, there are simply no other solutions. You could free up a couple of gigs by deleting the language packs you don't need, but that's really not going to solve your long term storage problems.

28.2gb space on mac mini

250gb space on lacie

Freeserve outgoing email pop server(now orange)

I tried the link but that page is for windows then looked further and went to the osx link but still no joy on safari

i think i will get the info(settings) from my powerbook before the hd is completly gone and do a complete reinstall of leopard

without doing a clean install disc 2 will not work? disc 1 holds all the data?
