Hmmmmm, ok shiney new mac,, 60 gig iPod, and nothing but music at the iTunes store? (Canada version) is this a phenominum (sp?) with all iTunes stores outside of the U.S., or am I missing something?

It's not just you, studios have been slow to jump into this. It's the same problem that delayed the introduction of music downloads outside the US for years.

Outside of the US, they do all suck, just music, and depending on where you are, quite expensive comparitively.

Agreements take time and I'm sure it's not just the studios but the government is involved at some level to slow things further.

We could use that planetary government right about now.

It'd be nice to be able to buy a video or music from any country.

Usa

By far, the USA ITunes site has the most video and music content. But the USA site does not have EVERYTHING that you may find on the UK or Canada site. Take, for example, videos for the Pet Shop Boys. The UK site has tons of their music videos, while the USA site just has 1 video. Pretty lame!

Demand, perhaps? Or lack thereof.

Actually, the Canadian iTunes store has the best prices of any iTunes store (with, as I recall, the UK store having the worst prices). At Friday's exchange rate, single songs typically sell for the equivalent of $0.89 US on the Canadian site.
