Ok... So Im Going to Upgrade HD and Ram but What if...

what if my mbp decides to fail on me and i need to send it in for repair
will apple repair even though i dont have original parts in it?
and if they decide to send me a replacement, will get give me the same spec type?

IE. i got the base 1999 model one 150gb, 2gb
but im planning to upgrade it to 320gb and 4gb of ram

when i send it in... will they give me those parts back?

They're user serviceable parts aren't they?

Should affect the warranty.

Talked with an apple genius last night, and he said both of those parts are user replaceable. If you put in yourself, it won't void the applecare, but applecare won't cover those parts.

would i have to send i my laptop and take out the ram/hd and they would be fine with it?
cause im thinking of selling the stock parts in the laptop

they will be fine with it, they just won't fix anything you changed.
