Alright, I think I've decided to sell my 17" (got a buyer for a fair price) and I will be downgrading to a 13" uMBP.

I was going to pick up the 13" MB from microcenter for $799 but due to the lack of fw800, limit to only 4GB of RAM, inferior display (the 13" uMBP has the 60% more color gamut) I'm going to go with the 13" uMBP.

Now the big question, is there a HUGE difference between the 2.26GHz vs. 2.53GHz?

This mbp will be my main machine basically. I can buy 4GB of RAM pretty cheap which costs about $100.

The hdd is not an issue either as I have my own to install once I get the mbp.

So do you guys think the .27 + 4GB of RAM already installed is worth $400?

If anything the higher clocked GHz is what I'm really looking at. As a main machine, I could use the most clock as I can get. But man $400 difference is pretty steep for only .27 (270Mhz) more.

What do you need it for?

270MHz might not make much of a difference.

I do run 4 spaces all the time with, transmission, firefox, safari running and will use vmware fusion in one of the spaces. And I will run plex player hooked up to a 40" hdtv to watch movies.

Then the 2.26GHz model does more than suffice, the 270MHz will not get you a boost worth that much money.
