On The Nickel, over there....
Hi all,
I'm running SL 10.6.6. Safari has a few bugs, such as not remembering usernames and passwords, Top Sites isn't showing updated (starred) web pages, and now if I add a bookmark, as soon as I close the browser the added bookmark is gone.
I know Safari is part of Webkit. Can I safely delete it and reinstall it?
I tried downloading and installing it and it still has the same problems. I reset Safari and it still has the same problems. I'm currently using FireFox and don't care for it so much, but at least it works.
Thanks for any advice/help!

You should be able to since Apple allows free public downloads from their site. If that doesnt work, try other browsers
Camino, FireFox, Chrome, Opera...

Thanks for the response, aaps59.
I just wasn't sure if deleting the old Safari would somehow mess up the OS. I may just go ahead and do it and see what happens.

Try replacing the app and see if that fixes things. You may want to first try repairing permissions via the Disk Utility application. You could also try trashing Safari preferences (or moving it to the desktop so you can put it back later).
