Hi All - Is there any risk of leaving my 2017 MB Pro Screen on 24/7? By this I mean I don't utilize the full brightness (usually left on night mode) at about half-way brightness and then a screen saver comes on after 5 minutes.

Can I leave this the way it is or should I often put the machine to sleep when not in use?

Thanks!

Why not set the system preferences and at the very least put the display to sleep?

I leave my Macs on, but whether we're talking iMacs or MBPs, I put the display to sleep. I also have a hot corner set to put the display to sleep as well.

Good point....thank you!

Keeping a display on all the time will increase the rate at which it shifts out of balance (i.e. the colours change a bit over time, and if you want them to be as accurate as possible will regularly need to be recalibrated). Aside from that I see no bigger issue, perhaps increased power draw. But yeah, sleeping the display seems like a better idea.
