I have a Cheotech T511 wireless charger. On the back it says input 5V 2A. Is it ok though to use an Apple iPhone charger which is 5V 1A?

I don't want it to be dangerous as in overheating etc, I'm not bothered on it taking slower as it'll be mainly for overnight charging anyway.

I can't find a (UK) adapter that is 2A that is as slim as the Apple iPhone one which I need for where it is.

Thanks

It won't work. Just use any 10W charger. Not 5W (5V / 1A).

I don't believe using a wireless charger within its specifications is considered "dangerous".

The supplied Apple wall adapter should work as well even for other wireless charger I have tried. Since it is wireless, you may be getting a slower than wired charging. However, manufacture would recommended higher amp than 1 to provide optimal charge like A 5V / 1.5A or 2A adapter will work better. Suggested to use a 5V / 1.5A or 2A adapter to maximize charge. Overheating can be from higher amp charger or using your device while charging. I believe it might be ideal to use it for overnight charging.

It isn’t dangerous. But it definitely will charge slower, maybe even so slow that it can’t keep up with what the phone is using as it sits on the charger.

Use a 10w charger. An old iPad 10 or 12w brick would be great.

Worried that may overheat that's all. It's more for the fact that of the shape, not sticking out of the wall as the position of the plug that's the problem.

The Apple iPad charger is no good, too bulky. I'll have to actually plug it in every night still.... It's such an effort you know!?!
