Ok to use dock w/out adaptor?

I have a case (iclear) on my touch, and I'd like to use a dock. But it doesn't work with the dock adaptor and the case. It was recommended that I just use the universal dock, without the adaptor. But does that put too much pressure on the connector part of my ipod?

I wouldn't want to damage the ipod that way.

No mate, it should be fine, the dock connector is quite strong.
