I started getting the "mouse cursor not going away when screensaver is on" bug in 10.4.2 . I logged in as a new user and this bug did not appear, thus it's limited to my account folder. Does anyone know what to trash in order to fix this?

Good question.
Let's see, here's what I found:
The cursor disappears during any screensaver that displays photos:
-abstract
-cosmos
-forest
-etc.

The cursor remains on screen when there's any image manipulation other than basic panning/fading, which is basically every other screensaver. (could be OpenGL related)

Also, interestingly enough, the cursor dissapears when previewing the screensaver in the control panel, but not when activated normally.

I have the same problem. I read in another post that This problem is caused by the divx quicktime plugin which is still not fully supported in tiger/quicktime 7 (While they say 5.2.1 doesnt work with tiger, it does just with some glitches) . It really isn't much to worry about. But it is really quite annoying I agree. But sadly I can't offer a fix.

Hey thanks, I dragged the divx 5.component file out of the Quicktime folder in the user's Library and the bug went away. I use VLC for this stuff anyways, I just installed the QT DivX plugin to see how it would run. Weird that it would cause this bug, eh?
