So today I when I turned on my jailbroken ipod touch, it went immediately to the Connect to Itunes sign. As a result I was like "what the heck?" and so I think, I should just restore my ipod because I didn't really have that much apps and stuff. So anyways, I get to dl'ing the latest firmware on Itunes, and right when im ready to restore the darned ipod, it can't and it comes up with the " Unexpected Error" sign.

I turned off my ipod, and turned it back on and now I see the connect to Itunes sign again, and I keep attempting to restore the darned thing, but everytime it comes up with the unexpected error sign.

so is there anything i could do!?

1) You need to get it turned off.
2) DIsconnect from computer.
3) Launch iTunes on computer.
4) Assuming the iPod is off, hold the HOME button (keep it pressed) and plug into the computer.

It should ask to restore.

whew,

hey thanks for the quick reply.
anyways after trying about 20 times and with your tips i got to restore again.

True

That's called a force restore. Same thing happened to me. Force restore worked.:D

How many threads have been started by newbies saying they bricked their ipods? Seriously learn how to use google or the apple support site. There needs to be a disclaimer somewhere...

That's a little harsh lol. Not everybody knows how to do a force restore ;)

Indeed, and however annoying it may be, this site is here to help out and advise (aswell as chat about rumors ;)). We were all n00bs once upon a time...
