So I ordered the iPhone 5 and Apple charged my card the full amount including the $250 early upgrade fee.

So now that I've extended my contract and bought out of my obligation with my iPhone 4s, would it be okay to request an unlock now or would it complicate things if I do this before activating the iPhone 5? I know it takes a few days to for unlock requests to take place and I want to sell my phone as soon as I can.

Has any one had any experience with this?

Thank you in advance.

I would say yes, they should now.

Either way, never hurts to try.

I'm gonna do it. I want the phone to be free and clear by next Friday. I'm going to a bbq party on Saturday and it would be nice to show my phone and let them try it out. Some people may be able to try their sim cards in the phone if it's a micro.
