Old 10.5.8 MBP won't play ISOs that my 2011 will out the box?

I searched and couldn't find a solution.

In at my friends house trying to open an ISO from an external drive (NTFS unfortunately) and my 2011 Mac sees and mounts them automatically but my buddies' 2007 MBP with 10.5.8 doesn't? It just says Zero KB in size and Alias under "kind"

If I try to open it's error -43

What should I do to make it open?

i've seen this with exfat formatted disks but not ntfs.

I had installed macfuse and thought that was enough but I guess I needed NTFS-3G as well and after I installed that it worked.
