Hello

I'm in a bit of a pickle and looking for some advice.

My Powermac G5 has a rather lame graphics card, but I can't really do anything about that as to solve it is so expensive I'd rather replace the whole thing. I have DVI and ADC ports.

I am currently using a pair of ancient 17" ADC Apple displays (one through a DVI adapter), which are great. I love them. However, one already died on me and its replacement is showing signs of age too, due to having been stored in horrendous conditions before I took it on (it has large scratches down the screen and needs powering on several times before it will come up properly now). I'm concerned I'm about to lose that monitor any day now and want to start planning a replacement. Getting another matching one is not going to be easy.

At work I use a high quality Samsung and really, really hate it. It's far too bright even turned down to the minimum and gives me headaches. The 17"s I have have a much softer feel and the finish on them is wonderful for completely avoiding any glare. I can work on them all day long without headaches. I also love the technology of ADC but I appreciate that it's a bit late for that!

Unfortunately Apple no longer seem to actually make any monitors themselves which will even work with my setup! And no smaller monitors at all - total disappointment. So I was wondering if anyone knew who actually made the old 17" Studio Displays (I understand, for example, that LG Philips make a few of the recent screens for Apple) so that I can take a look at their modern offerings and pick up something of similar quality. I hope it's not Samsung :(
