I'm looking into buying one of the old airport extremes (802.11.g) - the dome shaped ones rather than the AppleTV shaped ones - but I want to make sure it does what I'm looking for it to do. Specifically:
*Connect an external Hard drive (via USB) that can be therefore accessed by multiple computers;
*Connect to the net on a MiniMac through a *wired* connection (it does not have a wireless card);
*yet still connect to the net on my MacBook wirelessly at the same time.

Are these three requirements possible using the dome shaped Airport Extremes, or only the latest generation?

Cheers,

Two out of three. The older Extremes can't share disks via USB, only printers.
