Old email/new email sign-in

When I bought my phone I used a work email for my apple ID. I no longer work there and my employer eliminated my email. I can't update my aps so I tried signing in with another email and password. Apple took my credit card info and confirmed all was good. When I tried to update aps again my OLD email address is still there and I can't sign in! Help?? Thanks in advance.

Even though you don't have access to the old email address, do you remember your old Apple ID (and password) to login to that?

It was too long ago.. first Iphone, new job...... so I don't think I even wrote it down.

Then you will have to buy those apps again with the new apple id.
Next time don't use a work email and try to remember your apple ID.
