Yeah there's a reason why there is no bids.

You can get a refurbished Intel Mini for $420...waste of money for even listing that. Not many suckers will bite for that.

Probably right but there is one person out there who will be excited for some reason to get it thinking they got a great deal

The seller replied, here is is answer....

Dear rusty974,

Bidding starts at 432 and buy it now is 549...you can bid on it.

*****I wrote back and mentioned the Intel refurbs from Apple at $419

Yo,

I've seen the same thing here in the UK. G4 Mac minis with a 'buy it now' price of £399 (about $600).

The thing is, when Apple brought out the new models in the UK, they hedged the price against a lower exchange rate. As such, while models either stayed the same price or got a bit cheaper in the US, everything went up in the UK.

The cheapest MacBook was £699 a year ago. Now it's £749.

This has helped resale prices on eBay somewhat. I sold my G4 (1.42GHz, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD, Combo Drive, Bluetooth, Wifi) on eBay for £215 (about $320) a few months ago.

Some people just dont understand the real value of their machine. They think that since they spent 599 5 years ago that its still worth 599 and anything under is a steal.

Here was his last response when I told him about the refurbed ones.....

Dear rusty974,

not with a 160 g hd...

Wow the guy is an idiot. I would never pay that much for a Mac Mini that pretty much is used to surf the web, type up papers and small things. I can't see paying that much for that thing. I bought my Mini (which I have had for one day and probably just going to sell it now that it doesn't work with my Samsung monitor) for $300 and it's the 1.42 GHz with 80G and 1G of ram. I thought that $300 was a fair price but probably a touch on the high side since it's older version and there is now the duo core processor out with 2 gigs and 160 gig hard drive. Oh well.

Why won't it work with your monitor?

And yes the guy is an idiot!!

I think he wants you to bid.

I got a Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM and an 80GB HDD for $375 (well £230 seeing as I'm in the UK, but I converted the price based on current exchange rates) and it had 10.5.7 installed on it and came with recovery discs and everything.

ebay listing said:
Screen, KeyBoard and Mouse are available for $199 on top of the required min bid.

Hahaha, did you see that hideous small monitor! :D:confused::eek::p

I bought a 1.4ghz Mini at the beginning of the year for $150. Had the box and all accessories too. I overclocked it to 1.57 and resold it for a profit :D.

HAHA sad part is the monitor is not part of the auction!
