Hi, I have this old iPod Touch, 32 GB, that looks like it's from first or second generation that has this screen.

It won't go away, so I connected it to my iMac. However, it won't appear on my Finder or my iTunes like it is supposed to. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Thanks :)

Try putting the device in DFU Mode.

Completely turn off the device,
Hold down Power button for 2 seconds,
While still holding the power button press and hold the home button for another 10 seconds,
Release power button and continue to hold home button for another 10 seconds.

I totally agree. Try putting it in DFU mode as listed above, but if that doesn't work then try a different USB port or USB cable.
Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot! We were able to connect the iPod and reconfigure it.

Unfortunately, it was too old to be used again.
