Is there place you see the speed in graphics and CPU comparing the two? Got the maxed old iMac about a month ago. Like see comparsion of old CPU and new skylake performance wise.

Thanks,

Chris

i don't think thats out yet although i would love to know this as well since my 5k iMac is fully loaded.

For a rough idea of how CPU performance compares check out Anandtech's Skylake desktop CPU review.

In short, the CPU performance difference between a 4790K 4Ghz i7 in a 2014 Retina iMac and the 6700K 4Ghz CPU in a 2015 Retina iMac is generally insignificant (between 2-5% on average with a few outliers).

For GPU performance it's somewhat harder to speculate, as even though the m395x isn't that much faster than the m295x on paper, Apple and AMD may have managed to get the thermals under control this time around which could result in a nice, albeit not earth shattering performance increase.

So then have how much better is the monitor and how much is the force touch track pad used in OS. If real handy I buy the new track pad.

I have read that the new Force touch trackpad is only compatible with the new iMacs with bluetooth 4.0. Not sure if its true but I read it on a tech website. Can anyone confirm this?

It runs 3 to 7 degrees cooler. That's great. Perhaps less throttling this year

EDIT: referring to skylake versus haswell
