No,it will not work as the iPad Air has a much thinner bezel on it vs the older gen iPads. Unless you want to cut off the excess screen shield I don't recommend it.

The bezel doesn't matter, right? The diagonal hasn't changed from 9.7", and the home button seems to be in the same position. The screen protector appears to be just a film of plastic with the only hole being for the home button.

Screen protectors tend to cover the entire front of the iPad, including the bezels on the left and right. Although the screen size is the same the front of the iPad is smaller on the Air.

Ah, got it. The iPad Air is 9.4" x 6.7", while the iPad 4 is 9.5" x 7.3".

You'd have to cut down the original iPad/2/3/4 screen protector to fit the smaller bezel of the iPad Air. When you cut that material, you're inviting bubbles along the edges!
