Good evening all,

I have 2 old Iphones in which I reset for my young kids to play with however when I go through the set up mode its asks for my wifi password and when I type it in it states "unable to join network". I cannot go any further to allow them to play with things like the camera without getting through the set up part of the phone in which it is asking to connect to our wifi but wont connect. Is there any way to set the phone up to all them to play with the phone understanding that its just a toy at this point for my kids?

The phone model in question are A1387.

Thank you for the assistance!

Check if your WIFI is using WPA3 - the older phone may not support it and you may need to drop security on your WIFI network to WPA2.

I've had to do the same for my PS3.
Thank you ThroAU, any chance you could guide me as to how to attempt to find this information and or how to drop the security do at least get through the start up settings. Thank you kindly!

ThroAU - do you happen to know how to create a new network connection that uses not only 2.4GHz, but also uses older WPA and TKIP encryption. I was doing some reading and it stated that if I create a new network I should be able to connect??? Let me know your thoughts Thank you

Consult your wireless device's documentation It may be a tickbox to uncheck WPA3 and check WPA2, it may be something else, i'm not your documentation for your device; it varies.
