titles says it all. anyone have any suggestions for apps? been looking at isymdvr

I use iSYMDVR, i used my i5, now my i5s. This app is the perfect dash cam app. You can have it blank the screen after so many seconds, set the resolution and how long you want to record, you can tell it how much harddrive space to take and it'll automatically recycle files so you don't have to manage it.

Do you have any questions?

Things i've discovered using my phone as a dashcam.

Placement- Does it get hot where you live if so I'd be concerned about direct sunlight, also i placed mine near a vent so i can aim the vent at the iphone during hot weather or very long use.

Vibration- Depending what mount you used (I use RAM mount's) there might be a little bit of vibration during recording. If you use a window mount it depends how sturdy your mount is. Minor vibration is whatever for video recording.

Local laws- Some laws might not like dash cams or they don't mind it but they have some wire tapping law(recording audio). Thankfully iSYMDVR can disable audio to get around this issue.

Playing music- With that said, if you disable the audio recording in iSYMDVR you can play music through your phone/cars speakers.

thanks for the response

i am using the Aduro U-GRIP PLUS mount for now. im still trying to figure out a convenient placement. deciding between right beneath the rear view attached to the galss or on the dash...

No problem.

With my vehicle I am using my dash because the windshield mount kind of got in my way. Not so much on my dash in front on the right.
