It could be the Edge logo from the side tho. But it def looks like the longer 3G icon.

2.0 runs on both iPhone and iPhone 3G but maybe they don't have the 3G on that page because they aren't done yet? did you see the letter from apple to the FCC about keeping certain things private until they announce it regarding the iPhone 3G? found that really interesting. can't wait to see what features they'll add!
 
no no u c i know its on boath but it is the fact there is a "3g" box on the image of the old iPhone just look

Yes, there is a 3G icon on several of the screens. However, I wouldn't get too excited about it because they all have the same time (9:42AM) which would make me believe that these are simulated images. Unless you think all the shots were taken at the same time?
 
i noticed it... whats so hard to understand?

this could be false advertising... a lot of people think 3g is a software feature. could lead to trouble!
