Old iPhone still receiving emails

my new iPhone 4 is working, but it strange my old one keeps dinging when it gets new email. Is that normal, that I can get my new emails on both phones?

If you notice, that probably only happens when you are connected to wifi. Just restore your phone without a backup and there will be nothing on it.

You could also use it as an iPod Touch.

Is your old iphone connected to wifi? Your old phone should simply turn into an itouch.

+1...In fact, I'm running them side-by-side right now...the 3G on wifi and the i4 on AT&T.

What I did (just in case I need to use my 3GS for some reason) was I kept everything the way it was, didn't erase anything, and just put it in airplane mode and turned it off and put it back in the box. It won't do anything when I turn it back on because I would have read all of my emails and everything.

LOL. I'm sitting with a MacBook, iPad and iPhone 4 and all the morning emails arriving are dinging. Until I read this, I couldn't figure out where the 4th ding was coming from. Facepalm.
