Hello everyone

Anyone have their current iPhone upgrade program payment due this week and having their new phone come this week? We will be trading the old phone back in.

Do they normally credit the current payment back or wait a month to start the new one?

Thanks

Yeah, payment on 11 pro max is tomorrow. Would be great if that one got refunded but I’m not counting on it. 12 pro should arrive this Friday.

I was literally just wondering about this as I JUST got my citizens loan reminder that my payment will be taken out tomorrow.

I think a lot of us are going to be in the same situation. I called citizen bank and they had to refer me to Apple post sale support. I wasn’t able to get a clear answer from them on how the payments would be handled. I am trying to remember what happened when we traded my wife’s phone for the 11 pro last year.

I just looked up my loan at https://www.citizensoneloan.com and it says my loan is "On Hold" now. I assume it's because my phone has shipped (though Apple site still says it's preparing), but I got the Applecare+ email.

I assume this means my payment coming up will not be charged.

Have you checked your account online to see if it says that the account is “On Hold”? I got my reminder email today too but my account says it’s on hold. They’ve done this every year that I remember and it should keep you for getting charged. We’ll see though.

They did not charge me today as previously scheduled and show next payment due is $0.00 so I guess that’s good.

IMO, Apple has been moving away from the IUP for a while. The goal is to be done with Citizens Bank as when the moved out of the Barclays Apple Rewards Card.

The vast majority don’t upgrade yearly any longer. Apple‘s long term goal is for everyone to be on a 24m installment on a Apple Card with GS.

You will see less and less information on the IUP, more confusion, frustration, and lack of maintenance until people simply move to what Apple wants.

We are also seeing a big return to subsidies with this launch with the big carriers again like in the initial days of iPhones. If you are changing any plans with AT&T with your 12 purchase make sure you read the fine print.

Was anyone charged today for their iPhone 11 even though you're picking up the 12 this Friday? I find it ridiculous to be paying an additional month for the 11 just to return it in 3 days.
